Head Groom required for competition and livery yard in Wiltshire

Stockley Farm is looking for a head groom to join the team
Applicant must have experience of working with competition horses and be punctual, polite and tidy with a cheerful disposition.
The job involves all general yard duties, clipping, plaiting and trimming. Must be able to turn out horses to a high standard for owners and for competition

Applicant must be competent at handling fit competition horses from 4 year old to 4* and willing to travel to events at home and possibly abroad

You must be able to
Think for yourself
Take sole charge of the yard or work as part of a team
Be willing to manage other staff
Liaise with vets, farriers and other professionals

You must have
Good organisational and record keeping skills
Good people skills with an ability to give instructions,
delegate and manage people and staff

Rider is a BHSI and BE Accredited coach with a lovely yard to work out of which has been purpose built with good facilities

Applicant must be personable, with an eye for detail and horse welfare and demonstrate longevity in prior roles and have good references

It would be an advantage if you can drive a 3.5 tonne or HGV horse box or tow a trailer but not essential
