Commitment - Ambition - Dedication

Lorna Soames

Helen rode my horse Haddon Zapper for a season at intro and pre novice level. It was a season that I look back on with great enjoyment. We had a win and placings and at all times Helen was professional and looked after Zapper as one of her own.

During that time I got to know Helen and her yard well and was impressed by the care and time given to her horses. I so enjoyed the experience of being back in a friendly competitive yard that when the opportunity came up to have shares in a young horse with Helen I jumped at the chance.

Eddie will only be five next year and Helen has allowed him to develop at his own speed and grow into himself. Helen is dedicated, hardworking and committed but always making time for her horses and her many clients.

Helen rode my horse, Jack, for me for a few months last year while I was pregnant. I wanted someone to jump him regularly and also do a few competitions.

When Helen first started riding Jack, he was rather green, having only done a few unaffiliated competitions with myself but with Helen on board, he quickly gained in confidence and ability, resulting in placings and a win at intro level and a second place in his first pre novice event.

I found the whole experience of having a horse competing with Helen great fun and really exciting. Helen was always incredibly professional and considerate, always putting my horse first and made me feel part of the team.

Watching Jack grow in confidence and maturity while under Helen’s expert guidance has been a joy and, best of all, it has given me the courage to start eventing Jack myself – something I’d always dreamt of but never thought I’d have the confidence to achieve.

I have known Helen for over 12 years and always found her to be very friendly, approachable and professional.

My horse, Samantha, was very green and lacked confidence when I took her to Helen. Helen spent time giving her confidence and taking her back to the basics with total commitment and understanding of the horse. Slowly, I could see my very green mare develop into a good competition horse. She competed and won at intro level and was also placed in the top few at pre-novice.

I have absolutely no doubt in recommending Helen to anyone who was looking for a committed, hardworking and genuine trainer/rider to help them with their horse.

I sent my homebred mare to Helen to train and event. Helen produced her to novice BE level with several placings. She also trained my daughter to ride the horse at pre-novice level.

Helen’s work ethic is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and her ability to work with a difficult horse or rider is exemplary. Her style of teaching inspires great confidence especially with the talented youngsters.

Helen is an inspiring and fun person to be with. She has the ability to always see the positives of the situation and to make the most of any potential in both horse and rider. I have another homebred which I will be sending to Helen to produce in the future.

Having overfaced both my mare, Siesta, and myself at our first BE event my trainer felt that Siesta needed a confidence boost with a patient, kind and determined rider who would give the mare a good run to regain her confidence; my trainer recommended Helen, a young rider who was full of determination, kindness and patience.

On meeting Helen I found her very approachable and professional and she was really interested in understanding the needs of my horse.

Helen agreed to ride Siesta at her next event and rode her with understanding and commitment, resulting in a double clear and a top ten placing. Helen had her own two horses to event as well as mine but treated Seista with just as much importance as her own.

I have since asked Helen to view potential new horses for me which she kindly did with honesty and only my best interests at heart. I am now the proud owner of a lovely new horse who I am gaining lots of confidence with. I am currently having lessons with Helen with a view to eventing later this year. I am also hoping Helen will help school and event my new mare to help consolidate and further her education.
