Proud owner moment, big love for the Stockley team and huge thanks to everybody!

Its been a challenging couple of months getting back on my feet since my accident but I am delighted to say that I am now back teaching and riding. At my last hospital appointment in March my consultant told me I was allowed to ride ‘gently’ for the next three months and not to fall off! I have therefore been careful with what I have been riding and any youngsters have been out of bounds for the time being…With myself out of action I have therefore been incredibly grateful to the entire team at Stockley Farm for keeping the show on the road for the last three months. @Ursula Mackinder has been the fairy godmother of Stockley Farm, taking care of managing the day to day running of the yard and keeping the horses in tip top condition. She has been very ably assisted by Claire Urch who has put her herself out enormously to put in extra hours. Claire has also been exercising the horses and even took youngsters out hunting for us. Chloe Chandler joined the team in February and has been incredibly hard working and is a great asset to Stockley Farm, welcome to the team Chlo! Thank you to Faye Dyke and Daniel Norris for their hard work and finally Kerry Emms can only be described as amazing for the endless hours she has put in. Kerry’s normal duties consist of working in the office, however I have had a role reversal and whilst I have been honing my office skills, Kerry has very capably taken over the reins on the horses and done a sterling job at producing them all. At the weekend Kerry took Lorna Soames young horse ‘Tiger’ jointly owned with myself to her first one day event at Calmsden. She also rode Murray for Charles Phillips and what a cracking ride she gave both horses, turning in two double clears making their owners (including myself!) very proud and happy. I would also like to say a big thank you to Kylie Roddy Eventing for riding Rocky, Tiger and Alfie so beautifully at fellows and instructors conventions, Maggie Doel for schooling Alfie and keeping him in line, and Adam Botham for selling the lovely Rocky who has now gone to a new home as sadly with my accident I couldn’t justify keeping another young horse that I wasn’t able to ride.I would also like to thank KitKat Money-Kyrle who has been a fantastic physio and has helped get me back on my feet so quickly.
Also many thanks to my very long suffering husband who ended up having to wait on me hand and foot, friends who kindly came to cheer me up at hospital or whilst I was recovering at home and everybody for their well wishes and support. I feel incredibly lucky to have had such fantastic group of people supporting me through the last few months. I am now looking forward to a busy summer ahead of riding, competing and teaching!
